January 22, 2019 was the 46th anniversary of Roe v. Wade; the 1973 supreme court decision to legalize abortion. It remains today one of the most controversial cases in US history. America is split nearly 50/50 on this issue. So I have decided to share some scientific as well as biblical information on the subject.
Is it human?
Given that a common pro-choice argument is "her body, her choice" I figured that I would quickly address it.
In most of biology you need two parents, a mother and a father. Each parent is responsible for providing half of the offspring's DNA. The father provides a sperm, and the mother provides an egg. Once the sperm fertilizes the egg it becomes an embryo. This is the only exchange of genetic information made throughout the pregnancy. This invalidates the argument completely. The moment the egg is fertilized it has a new genetic code, completely separate from both the mother and the father. And it is now 100% human.
Is it alive?
There is often a debate on when the child is alive, and therefore, at what point is it moral to abort its life. While there is much debate in the scientific community on what makes something alive, there are five criteria that serve as a good starting point.
1. Organization
2. Growth
3. Responds to surroundings
4. Reproduction
5. Energy
Organization is referring to how an organism develops in a specific order. Humans have 23 sets of two chromosomes for a total of 46. These chromosomes store all the information needed in a human body. They are very well organized and provide the child with the information needed to grow properly.
This brings us to number two, growth. An embryo grows like any other cell, it divides itself in half and then they grow to their full size and repeat. This cycle goes on the rest of the pregnancy until the baby is large enough and strong enough to survive outside the womb.
Number three, it responds to its surroundings. An embryo responds like any other cell would, they can feel and sense the same as every other cell in your body. This becomes more evident as it grows, in a matter of a few weeks it will be able to move freely and respond to stimuli.
Next is number four, reproduction. When most people hear reproduction they think about reproducing offspring. However it also refers to reproducing its own cells. For instance, a mule is the offspring of a horse and a donkey. A mule can't reproduce offspring but is still classified as alive because it can reproduce its own cells. In the same way as an embryo is to young to produce offspring, it can reproduce its cells.
The last one is number five, energy. In order for an organism to be an organism, it must either produce or absorb energy. In the first weeks of an embryo's life, it is attached to a tiny yolk sac which provides nourishment. Later the placenta will provide the nutrients to the child. While it's true that the mother provides the child with the energy, it is still using it which is the only requirement.
Is it moral?
Through research I was able to determine that 1. an embryo is human, and 2. that it is alive. The last question that needs to be answered is, "Is it moral to end the life of an unborn baby?". This will rely entirely on your world view. As a Christian I believe that humans are made 100% in the image of God, and that we have intrinsic worth. (Genesis 1:27) I also believe murder is a sin that I am commanded not to commit. (Exodus 20:13)
Since Roe v. Wade there have been more than 61 million abortions in the US. Since 1980 there have been over one and a half billion abortions worldwide. (Source)
Proverbs 5 verse 16-17:" There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,"
What blood is more innocent then that of the unborn?
And as time goes on the situation only gets worse. Recently, New York passed a bill that would allow abortion up to birth.New York set to legalize abortion up to birth
As you read this children are dying. Christians must band together to help stop these horrible practices, if not, morality will be lost forever.

Time Does Not Solve Everything
I am going to talk about what I believe is one of the most definitive pieces of evidence that supports Creation. This evidence is the complexity of proteins.
Before I begin, I first have to explain what a protein is. A protein is a strand of smaller parts called amino acids. Amino acids are composed of carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and oxygen, but some contain phosphorous and sulfur.
Now that you know what proteins are made of, I want to discuss why they are so important.
Proteins are one of the most crucial parts of life. They preform various tasks. In almost every function of biology a protein is responsible. They make up parts of the cell wall, used as antibodies to fight off infections, not to mention they perform nearly all of the chemical reactions that support life. The U.S. National Library of Medicine sums it up best stating that, "they (proteins) do most of the work in cells...". This is no exaggeration, to put it in simple terms, LIFE SIMPLY WOULD NOT EXIST WITHOUT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that you have a general understanding that if proteins did not exist life would not either, I can start explaining their complexity.
Remember earlier when I mentioned that proteins were made up of amino acids? There are about 20 different amino acids. In order to create a protein each amino acid has to be lined up in the the correct order.

This is an image of the simplest protein Ribonuclease. Each one of the three letters is an abbreviation for a different amino acid. If even one amino acid is out of place or missing, this protein would not be Ribonuclease, therefore it would not be able to do its job. Now let's see what the odds are of this being formed by random chance.
This protein is made up of 124 amino acids. There are 17 different types of amino acids in this protein. So since we have the 17 amino acids required for this protein, the odds of getting the first amino acid in the chain (Lys) is 1 in 17. Now in order to get the second amino acid to come after the first (Lys then Glu), we would have to multiply 1 in 17 times 1 in 17 which equals 289. If you were to complete the equation with all the 124 amino acids, the answer would be 1 in 1 with 152 zeroes! Now to put into perspective how ridicules these odds are, a poker player has a better chance getting a royal flush 19 times in a row without ever exchanging cards! (Source)
This is not the insane part yet. This is the simplest of all proteins, but there are millions of proteins in existence. Each one more complex then the next. Some even have over 10,000 amino acids in them!
To believe that all of the evidence that I have provided came about by random chance is completely ridiculous and unscientific! There is no possible way that all of the necessary proteins would arise in the exact right place at the same time and create the rest of the cell out of thin air!
In the end you need some supernatural force because time does not solve everything.

It Is Time to Make a Decision
We are at a point in our society where Christians have to make a very important decision. In our society Christians are being denied basic rights. For example, Jack Phillips a Christian baker refused to make a custom cake for a gay couple. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/02/13/supreme-court-ruling-on-colorado-gay-wedding-cake-case-may-be-influenced-by-past-litigation.html
In this incident a Christian is being forced to do something that goes against his beliefs. This is violating religious freedom! But why? Couldn't these people just go to a different bakery? Why does it have to be this specific one? It seems like they are trying to make a statement. They are making an example of this baker because he disagrees with them.
This is just one of the many attacks on Christians. Children and teenagers are being forced to learn secular and evolutionary world views in their schools. Complaints are being filed because Christians state their beliefs publicly, and are being criticized for not going with the crowd. Almost anything you can think of, Christians somewhere are facing it.
This brings us to the choice. The choice is to stand up for our rights, or just ignore the pain. We live in a time where we can share the truth to millions with a tap of a button. We also live in a time when the government and secularist can shun us. Its only a matter of time where Christians can openly state there beliefs without being persecuted. We have to decide if it is time to fight for our rights or stand in silence while they are being taken away. We have to decide if we are going fight now so the generations after us have the right to believe. I know that I will not tolerate these attacks. I hope somewhere out there someone else thinks the same as me.
If we don't stand up for our freedom who will?

Do We Live In A Static World?
A statement in Bill Nye's book 'Undeniable' claims that, "...creationism, which offers a static view of the world, one that cannot be challenged or tested with reason. And because it cannot make predictions, it cannot lead to new discoveries, new medicines, or new ways to feed all of us."
In this sentence there are 3 separate statements, 1: creationism offers a static view of the world. 2: That the creationist view can not be tested with reason. And 3: That creationism can't make predictions which lead to new discoveries. Overall he is stating that creationists can't be real scientists. I plan on proving all 3 of these statements wrong.
Statement 1: First of all we have to understand what he means by static view. The definition of static is, lacking in movement, action, or change, especially in a way viewed as undesirable or uninteresting. So by static he means not changing. I believe otherwise.
In the beginning God created everything, each time after creating something he said it was good. At that time everything was perfect, then sin entered the world (also known as the fall). After that God had to change some things.
Genesis chapter 3 verse 16 To the woman he said "I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband and he will rule over you." verse 17 ..."cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. verse 18 "It will produce thorns and thistles for you and you will eat eat the plants of the field."
Throughout the Bible there are various accounts of change, this is probably one of the biggest. But what do all the various accounts have in common? God is the one who is doing the changing. So the conclusion is the world changes, but only when God wants it to. Otherwise we do live in a static world.
But what does a static view have to do with anything? I believe it is crucial! Let me explain. One of the most important parts of science is performing experiments, In order to draw a conclusion the experiments must be repeatable and have the same results. In the atheist view is that the world is always changing. Therefore the experiments they perform today could have different results tomorrow. This is the complete opposite of creationism, which (as so eloquently put by Bill Nye) offers a static view of the world, one that does not change, and our conclusions do not change (except for experimental error.)
Now what about the third statement? Creationists and atheists use the same methodology (the scientific method). So in order to call creationists inaccurate or unscientific they are calling themselves that. Regarding us not able to make discoveries; Isaac Newton also known as the Father of Physics, Ben Carson well known for his medical breakthroughs, Raymond Damadain inventor of MR (Magnetic Resonance) Scanning Machine, these are just some of the most important people in science. They also believe in the creation. These 3 people are enough proof that Christians can be scientists. In fact we can be great scientists, we have the one thing atheists don't. We have the Creator of the Universe on our side and no amount of science can stand up to that.
